#2Birds1Bike

This summer, Emma Williams & Natalie Creswick are taking on the tandem ride of their lives. Nearly 900 miles non-stop from Lands End to John o’Groats.  A never been tried before challenge for “two birds on one bike”

The gold standard time for them to beat is: 3 days 12 hrs, however the girls have set themselves a personal goal of riding as close to the women’s solo time as possible (2 days 4 hrs 45 min 11 sec currently held by LEA Taylor and set in 2002).

Emma and Natalie have chosen a red Dolan tandem frame as their stead for the 874 mile attempt, which has been affectionately named “Donald” by the girls.

The girls hope that by undertaking this potentially record breaking journey, they will help to raise the profile of women’s cycling in the UK and raise much needed funds for Access Sport – a charity whose mission is to give more children access to a wide range of sport locally.

You can sponsor the girls on their just giving page: http://www.justgiving.com/twobirdsonebike

Filles a Velo will be following the girls in the run up to and throughout the attempt and will be posting regular updates on our blog and using the twitter hashtag #2Birds1Bike
